Evan Rachel Wood Joins Cast of THE FATHER

When Theatre in the Park’s production of The Father opens in August, it will be a family affair.

The production stars Theatre in the Park’s Executive Director Ira David Wood III and his real-life daughter, Evan Rachel Wood and will be directed by Ira David Wood IV.

Since 2016, Wood has starred as sentient android Dolores Abernathy in the HBO science fiction Western series Westworld. She also voiced the role of Queen Iduna in Frozen II.

Wood grew up in Raleigh and is no stranger to Theatre in the Park’s stage. She starred in a special engagement of Romeo and Juliet there in 2009 and performed a benefit concert for the historic community theater in 2018.

Nominated for Best Play at the Olivier and Tony Awards, The Father presents a sobering and emotionally intense look at the world through the eyes of a man experiencing dementia.
