Video: Team Behind JTP’s ‘Caroline, or Change’ Talk About the Show, the Music, and More

The documentary Show Business: The Road to Broadway, followed four shows from conception to the Tony Awards. Those shows were Taboo, Wicked, Avenue Q, and Caroline, or Change. It was a fascinating study of what goes on behind-the-scenes in the making or breaking of a Broadway show.

Caroline, or Change opened in 2004 on Broadway and closed shortly thereafter. In that Showtime documentary, it was hailed as one of the best musicals that year. Although the show by Tony Kushner (Book/Lyrics) and Jeanine Tesori (Music) had a short initial Broadway run, it went onto win the Olivier Award for Best Musical and is seeing quite a resurgence in popularity now, including a recent West End revival.

Triangle audiences can experience this show next month when the Justice Theater Project production opens in Raleigh. Hear what Terra Hodge (Director), Jackson Cooper (Musical Director), and Danielle Long (Caroline) had to say to RDU on Stage about the show, which runs June 7th through June 23rd.
