Juneteenth: Former NFL player and UNC alum Greg Ellis co-wrote, directed, and produced this play, which will stream this Saturday night. This is an eye-opening production, revealing the history of Juneteenth, while answering why residue from slavery has such a negative impact on society today. Ellis is originally from Wendell. Tickets are $10.
Buyer & Cellar: Laugh-out-loud funny and perhaps even a little aspirational, join Brian Westbrook for an inside peek of Babs’ basement. This one-man play, written by Jonathan Tollins, benefits McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center in Henderson and may just be the pandemic panacea you didn’t know you needed. Tickets are $10.

Marat/Sade: The Living Room Concert: One-night-only, streaming live from Horse Complex, Durham, the musicians of 2020 Bare Theatre production of MARAT/SADE will perform the new original score by Al Riggs, music., with special permission of Dramatic Publishing. The Talk: The Talk by Sonny Kelly is a one-man show that draws on the voices of ancestors, elders, youths and intellectuals to engage in the difficult conversations facing a divided America right now. PlayMakers Repertory Company is partnering to share an archival recording of The Bulldog Ensemble Theater and StreetSigns Co-Production through July 10th. Donations welcomed and encouraged. Kelly is also host to the YouTube series The Talk Roundtable, a wonderful talk back to continue the conversation post production. On June 26th, PlayMakers’ Producing Artistic Director Vivienne Benesch will interview Kelly for her series Virtually, Viv. Read Kim Jackson’s RDU on Stage review of The Talk.
