Racism on the Great White Way has marginalized people of color and those from other oppressed groups, perpetuating longstanding practices. Is that intrinsically being reproduced in Regional Theatres? Has Broadway fostered a modern form of racial and cultural colonization in the theatres around the world? Broadway and Regional Theatres need to eradicate racism embedded in its auditions, casting practices, and everyday operations, the conversation has begun, where do we go from here?
This panel of acclaimed artists and creatives working on Broadway and Regional Theatres will explore the crisis of racial discrimination on Broadway and in Regional Theatre, with an emphasis on how the Great White Way can help to intentionally shift its stance toward antiracism and signal Regional Theatres around the world to do the same.
