In a West Philly neighborhood, the holidays are always a big family affair at the Shealy household. This year, Dotty and her three grown children gather with more than exchanging presents on their mind. Dotty, the family widowed matriarch is struggling to hold on to her memory as she is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, her children are trying to figure out their own life’s journey while grappling to accept the need to care for their aging mother. Along the way, we meet family friend Jackie who once dated Dotty’s now married gay son, who has returned to the neighborhood running from her own choices and Dotty’s caregiver Fidel trying to find his way in a new country while not being able to return to his home country.
