Another actor-on-actor interview. This time Mia Self interviews theater-maker Lormarev Jones.
Lormarev Jones is a theatre artist and educator who currently commutes throughout the South and the Midwest. Lormarev directs and choreographs for musical theatre and plays; she teaches young people how to foster their own creative voices. She received her undergraduate education from Meredith College, Raleigh, NC and her MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College. With experience in solo performance, puppetry, stage management, and sound design, Lormarev is most drawn to new original works with interdisciplinary components. When not on stage, you can find her at the bowling alley or analyzing a Colin Firth film.
Mia Self is the Assistant Director of Acting, Directing, and Academics at NC State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has an MFA from the University of Mississippi and a BA from Catawba College with an emphasis in performance and directing. Mia works as a director, actor, voice and text coach in addition to her periodic jaunts into writing and devising. Tea with Agatha was written to celebrate the 2016 TheatreFEST season devoted to Agatha Christie. She’s slated to direct Small Mouth Sounds with Honest Pint at the end of summer and Almost, Maine at NC State at the top of the fall semester.
